Wine is a strong component of our culture, not only at Diacceroni, but all of Tuscany.
Our Wine Trails offer you the opportunity to visit the hilly territory of Tuscany which is home to many vineyards classified as IGT, DOC and DOCG.
The expert enologist, who will be your guide, will discuss the geographic indications that distinguish wines, the various types of grapes used, such as Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Chardonnay, Trebbiano, Cabernet, Merlot, Ciliegino, and Malvasia.
Following this discussion will be a visit to various important vineyards. During these visits the process of making wine from the harvesting to the bottling will be demonstrated and explained. The characteristics which define noble wines will be explained as well.
The various Wine Trail itineraries will be accompanied by the enologist Doctor Alfredo Tocchini. Each course will involve a lunch at one of the vineyards and wine tasting.
Tuscan wines from our lands
The fundamental element of Tuscan culture is wine. This course offers our guests the opportunity to become familiar with the history of wine, and our vineyards. You will learn the secrets relative to good wine production, from the harvesting to the bottling. We will also visit a few very prestigious vineyards in our zone where the best red and white wines are produced IGT and DOCG. Each group will travel by car or by mini-bus and be accompanied by one of our enologists.
The tour will cover the hills around Terricciola, Volterra and surroundings.
Only one word: chianti classico!
The Chianti DOCG is indisputably the king of Tuscan viniculture, with its origins in the ancient past.
This course allows our guests to visit the Chianti region which spreads over Pisa, Siena, and Florence. The tour is accompanied by car or by a mini-bus and of course one of our expert enologists. You will learn the story of Chianti, which is steeped in history, and its production from harvesting to bottling.
Brunello di Montalcino
This is an entire day dedicated to visiting the most prestigious wine region that are also renowned throughout the world. Each group will be accompanied by car or by a mini-bus and one of our experts, who will be completely available to you. We will visit the city of Montalcino, the home to several of the most revered Tuscan red wines, in particular the Brunello of Montalcino. We will visit some of the more famous producers of the Brunello, and you will learn the secrets relative to producing this noble wine. From the harvesting of the grape through to the bottling, all will be explained.
The Bolgheri wines are both white and red and are classified as DOC. These are wines specific to the hills of the Maremma, close to the sea, precisely the Bolgheri area of Castagneto Carducci. Our guests will be accompanied by car or by mini-bus and one of our expert enologists, who will of course be available to answer any of your questions. You will visit the various producers of the Bolgheri wines, and learn all that there is to know of this wine’s production.
